What are the things that you do *NOT* like about how your mental health care provider treats you? Please do NOT mention names. Thank you.

  2. I used to not have a mental health care provider, for the majority of my life, so now that this is working for me, I appreciate it more than most people.

But the things that used to bother me were medical bills, which basically was engrained into me as a waste of money no matter what I had spent it on. Part of the problem was I didn't have insurance back then.

These days, I do NOT like missing appointments with my doctors. Whenever I miss those, no one reminds me, and I usually get surprised months later that there is another bill to be paid. In fact, in the past, this would be more than enough reason to switch doctors. But for me now, I want to stay with the same doctors for as long as I can afford to to better my treatment and my relationships. I don't want to run away anymore from the responsibilities that adults need to address, from that person that I want to be.

I also want to address the fact that people are literally scared to death of having their basic human rights violated when they admit to having any problem with suicidal ideation and harm to others. It's something I don't like about our mental health system, and something that needs to be addressed at every facility where anyone has the right to "lock you up". It needs to be talked about more to give people a realistic view of what is going on, and it needs time for debate, especially when it happens to someone you love.
